Slovnaft

Slovnaft a.s. is a public company that operates the largest oil refinery in Slovakia. In addition Slovnaft maintains in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and in Poland a network of filling stations.

History

Slovnaft was created in 1949 as the successor of 1946 nationalized Apollo refinery. Today Slovnaft part of the MOL Group, which owns 98.4 % of shares.

Refinery

The refinery is located in the southeast of the city of Bratislava, in the Bratislava II Okres The refinery was built in the 1960s and measures a surface area of 2.5 km by 2.3 km. It is located east of the Danube Auenbereichs south of Ružinov and the Little Danube district and west of Podunajské Biskupice. The refinery has transport connections to the Slovak railway network in the Bratislava Central freight station ( railway line Bratislava - Hegyeshalom ) on the D1 motorway and the Danube port of Bratislava.

Company data

Slovnaft currently employs 4,500 people, annually processes 5.5 to 6 million tons of oil. In Slovakia, the company operates 210 service stations.
