The Smith River is a left tributary of the Liard River in Canada's Yukon Territory and in the province of British Columbia.

It forms the outlet of Lower Toobally Lake to the south of the Yukon Territory and flows in a southerly direction across the provincial border to British Columbia. The place Smith River is located southwest of the mouth of Shaw Creek, near the river course. About 2 kilometers above the confluence with the Liard River overcomes the Smith River, the 35 m high and 10 m wide, Smith River Falls. The 254 -acre Smith River Falls -Fort Halkett Provinicial Park comprises the last kilometers of the river including the Smith River Falls waterfall and the former location of the HBC trading post, Fort Halkett.
