The SMS Archduke Charles was named after Archduke Charles, Duke of Teschen. She was a ship of the Archduke class and the 3rd Heavy Division of the Austrian navy was assigned. She ran in 1903 by the stack. Particularly is that their secondary guns were housed in electrically powered turrets.

During the First World War, she took part in the large-scale fleet operations in the Adriatic. Nevertheless, she experienced a rather inconspicuous career.

In 1919 the Archduke Charles Yugoslavia before 1920 France passed as part of Austria's restitution. When the French wanted to drag her to Toulon she ran in Bizerte, Tunisia, on reason. She was also scrapped.
