Smurfit Kappa Group

The Smurfit Kappa Group plc is an Irish company in the packaging industry, the largest producer of corrugated board in Europe and one of the largest in Latin America. The company is a member of the ISEQ Overall Index on the Irish Stock Exchange.

Business of Smurfit Kappa Group are the manufacture of corrugated board, cardboard, and other wood-based pulp packaging. The Group operates approximately 400 manufacturing plants, has an annual turnover of more than € 7 billion and over 40,000 employees. It is present in almost all European countries, nine Latin American countries, Canada, Singapore, the USA and South Africa.

Listed on the Irish Stock Exchange and in the ISEQ 20 ( Irish Stock Exchange Quotient) listed group of companies was formed in 2005 from the merger of Jefferson Smurfit Group Irish with Kappa Packaging. The Smurfit Kappa Group is owned by the investment firm Madison Dearborn Partners, Cinven Limited, CVC Capital Partners and members of management. Legal headquarters is the Irish capital of Dublin, more regional headquarters are located in Paris ( European business ) and Miami (Latin America business). The Germany office is located in Hamburg.

The merger based in St. Louis / USA Jefferson Smurfit Corporation ( JSC) - a subsidiary of Jefferson Smurfit Group plc Irish - with the Stone Container Corporation founded in 1926, based in Chicago, created in 1998, the Smurfit - Stone Container Corporation.
