SNCB Class 21

The number 21 is a series of electric locomotives that used since 1984 by the Belgian railway and both for stringing people - as is also used by freight trains. The largest area of ​​application intercity and inter-regional trains throughout the country.

The vehicles are almost identical with the number 27, however, have about 25% less power. The row 11 and row 12 ( since 2012 out of service ) are equipped a variant of this series and more compatible with other systems and with the necessary train control systems for the Netherlands or France.

A total of 60 machines were built with numbers from 2101 to 2160, of which not all are in use. The vehicles in this series are equipped with train control systems and Memor TBL1 , they also have a compatible with the push-pull train control cars M4.

  • The locomotives from 2131 to 2160 have a rain gutter over the front wheels, as opposed to vehicles from 2101 to 2130.
  • Number in 2130 was rebuilt in 1993 to test locomotive No. 1901.
