SNCF Class BB 15000

The BB 15000 electric locomotive class is a French Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Français ( SNCF), German French State Railways for use on the AC 25 kV 50 Hz AC electrified track. The locomotives were built by Alsthom in the years 1971 to 1976.

The locomotives have the typical for the 1960s and 1970s front shape of the designer Paul Arzens, the " Nez casse " (about " broken nose " ) is called the first time 40100 was applied in the machines of the CC series. You have a lot of electronic equipment such as automatic speed regulation and have proven to be very reliable in operation. The design speed is 180 km / h, while in practice the maximum speed to 160 km / h limited. The machines are the first French line locomotives with two cabs, which have only one pantograph.

It should be noted that the last 15 built locomotives in favor of a larger state leaders have a less schiefnasige front end.

Use

All locomotives were located from the beginning in the Alsatian town of Strasbourg, where they were distributed to the remote areas of transportation as well as on the areas TER Alsace and Lorraine. With the opening of the TGV Est 2007, many locomotives were free for new areas. By the end of 2011, all BB 15000 were gradually moved to Achères, where they have the locomotives of the BB 16000 completely replaced to a large extent and the locomotives of the BB 16100.

The previous high-quality passenger services, such as the former TEA Nobel trains Goethe, iris and Stanislas are almost completely past with the Umbeheimatung after ACHERES. Meanwhile done most inserts on TER regional trains.
