Society for Psychical Research

The Society for Psychical Research ( SPR for short ) is an association for the study of parapsychological phenomena. It was founded in 1882 in London and was the first of its kind

Founding members of the company were Sir William Fletcher Barrett, Edmund Gurney, Frederick William Henry Myers and George John Romanes, all connected to Trinity College (Cambridge). The excitation was given by Barrett ago as 1876 out of interest in spiritualism. The results of the research will be published in the Proceedings of the Society for Psychical Research and the Journal of the Society for Psychical Research. The up to now (2006 ) best known, but also the most controversial, the study was called the Hodgson Report of 1884 / 85th
