Socotrella

Socotrella dolichocnema is the only species of the monotypic genus so Socotrella of the subfamily of milkweed plants ( Asclepiadoideae ). The first description of Socotrella dolichocnema was launched in 2002 by Peter Vincent Bruyns, the species he described, together with Anthony G. Miller. The botanical name of the genus refers to the presence on the island of Socotra.

Description

Socotrella dolichocnema grows as a small, succulent plant something rhizomatöse. The four -edged, more or less rectangular, dark green, trailing shoots are 5-15 inches long and 4-7 mm thick. Their warts have 1 to 2 millimeters long tooth-shaped bifurcation at its upper end. Journal rudiments or Stipularzähnchen are not available.
