Söderledstunneln

The Söderledstunneln (on German southern tunnel connection ) is a tunnel in the center of the Swedish capital Stockholm. It lies between the Centralbron and Johanneshovsbron the Södermalm district. The tunnel has a length of 1,550 meters and crossed from north to south Södermalm.

Construction began on 9 October 1984., The new building was the old open manhole, which was built in 1944 under the name Södergatan eintunneln. This 650 -meter-long street manhole cutting through the northern parts of Södermalm, the construction many historic residential neighborhood have been demolished, which has been heavily criticized.

In 1966 a short, 150 meter long, section of the tunnel in the course of redevelopment, however, was not applied to traffic as there was no road connections. The tunnel has a width of 7.25 meters and a height of 4.50 meters. The tunnel was last complete renovation in 2011.
