Sofi Marinova

Sofi Marinowa Kamenowa ( Bulgarian София Маринова Каменова; born December 5, 1975 in Sofia) is a Bulgarian singer popfolk with Roma roots.

Large notoriety received Sofi Marinowa as a singer of Bulgarian Roma band Super Express ( Супер експрес ) with which they einsang five albums in the 1990s. Under her own name she has released ten albums since 1997.

2005 and 2007 she participated in the pre-selection for the Euro Vision Song Contest, but was not selected. As the winner of the Bulgarian preselection 2012, she was allowed with the pop song Love Unlimited at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2012 in Baku compete for their country. In the second semi-final, they could not qualify for the two days later held finale. It failed particularly short supply: With 45 points, she took eleventh place, level on points behind Norway. Since Norway from eleven countries received at least one point, Bulgaria, however, only ten, Norway moved into the finals and Bulgaria was eliminated.
