Sofia Metro

The metro Sofia ( Bulgarian Метрополитен София / Transcription: Metropolitan Sofija, colloquially Софийско метро / Sofijsko metro) was opened January 28, 1998. Since 31 August 2012, there are two lines with 27 stations to a total of 31.1 kilometers in length. The subway in Sofia is used after the opening of the second line 2012 of 450,000 daily passengers.

History

There was always a higher volume of traffic in Sofia, the government approved the plan to build a metro network with three lines. Line 1

1978 Construction began between Sliwniza ( Сливница ) and Konstantin Welitschkow ( Константин Величков ). On 8 May 2009 the largest ever supplement with 5 new stations between the stadium Vasil Levski ( Стадион Васил Левски ) in the center and Mladost 1 ( Младост 1) was completed in the southeast. 2007/2008 was the first phase of the construction project, the municipality of Sofia - 6.4 km between Nadezhda ( Надежда ) and Boulevard Cherni Wrach ( булевард Черни Връх ) - advertised. Construction and planning
