The St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia (Bulgarian: Софийски университет ". Св Климент Охридски " ) has approximately 14,000 students, the largest university in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. It is named after the scholar and saint Kliment of Ohrid.

The Sofia University was founded on October 1, 1888, is the oldest university of the country. First, there was only one Historical- Philological Faculty. A year later, the Mathematics and Natural Sciences and Faculty of Law were added. The University is a member of the network of Balkan universities.
