SQS Software Quality Systems AG is a consulting company based in Cologne. The company describes itself as the largest independent provider of software testing and quality management services.
The SQS Group was founded in Cologne in 1982 and employs around 2,800 people. In addition to a strong presence in Germany and the UK, SQS has further subsidiaries in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. Overall, SQS has a presence in 15 countries with offices. The SQS also has a minority stake in Portugal and a partnership operation in Spain.
In 2013, SQS generated sales of 225.8 million euros. The company is represented on the AIM Market of the German stock market of the London Stock Exchange and has a secondary listing on the Open.
Operations
The business activities of the Group companies mainly covers services and products for software quality assurance, software quality management and software testing. All services are part of a consulting approach, which involves the entire software life cycle. In addition, the SQS service portfolio managed testing services, management services includes for long-term outsourcing, offshoring and homeshoring of software testing, tooling solutions and high- tech engineering in test systems and embedded systems. Specifically, the company covers among others the following tasks: test management, analysis of the test environment, Internet and Web tests, testing of SAP systems, test asset management, health checks, performance and load testing and test automation. In the role of independent quality manager leads by SQS assessments of existing test processes and recommends tools and measures for each specific customer requirements.
The company is active in various industries, such as finance, industry & engineering, mass media & entertainment, transportation & logistics, telecommunications, IT services, public services and energy.
Its customers include Barclays, BP, Commerzbank, Credit Suisse, Daimler, German Bank, German Post AG, Volkswagen AG, Eurobet, Euro Gate, MessageLabs, Phoenics, T-Mobile, T-Systems and Zurich Group.
Another important aspect of the business is the seminar business, especially with courses on ISTQB ( International Software Testing Qualification Board ), IREB ( International Requirements Engineering Board ) and ISEB (Information Systems Examination Board ), as well as the IT congress market. The " iqnite " conferences ( formerly: Software & Systems Quality Conferences ) include a total of nine annually established events in Germany, UK, Switzerland, Ireland, Australia, Scandinavia, Austria and South Africa to the largest quality management and software testing conferences.
