Söğüt

Söğüt is a town and a district of the Turkish province of Bilecik. The city is located about 25 kilometers southeast of the provincial capital Bilecik.

The district is located in the southeast of the province. It is bordered on the southwest by Bozüyük, in the northwest to the central district, to the north by Gölpazarı, to the east by İnhisar and to the southeast by the Province Eskişehir. By Söğüt performs a route connecting Bilecik to Eskisehir. In suede of the circle are the foothills of the mountains Sündiken Dağları. In the extreme south is the lake Zemzemiye Göleti, close by the prehistoric archaeological site Demircihöyük.

Söğüt was the origin of the Ottoman Empire and one of the royal seats of the house of Osman.
