Sohrab Bakhtiarizadeh

Sohrab Bakhtiarizadeh (Persian سهراب بختیاریزاده; born September 11, 1972 in Nurabad ) is an Iranian football player.

Bakhtiarizadeh comes from the province of Khuzestan, where he played until 1999 at the first division club Foolad Ahvaz. After that, the defender moved to the capital club Esteghlal Tehran, which was in the year trophy winner and championship runner-up.

A trip the following year to the Turkish first division club Erzurumspor ended with a hasty return after this had turned out to be insolvent relegation.

Another year at Esteghlal, which also took the third place in the Asian Cup next renewed Cup victory and runner-up, followed by a mixed year in which not only the club, but he himself disappointed. And so he left Tehran back towards Ahvaz, which could then repeat with 3rd place her until then best championship result in the club's history.

In 2004 he moved to Erstligaaufsteiger Saba Battery Tehran and won with the team in the first year the Iranian cup competition ( Hazfi Cup) and the League Cup. The following year he led the team as captain to 4th place in the championship. He developed despite his defensive position at set-pieces to a prolific players.

During his early days at Foolad to Sohrab Bakhtiarizadeh also recommended for the Iranian national team. In October 1997 he made his debut in the World Cup qualifiers. There followed a convoluted National team career and after a three year break, he returned ahead of the Football World Cup 2006 in Germany back into the team. As one of the most experienced player he was in the World Cup squad of Iran and scored in his two appearances even one of the two World Cup goals of his country. Shortly after the World Cup, he declared age of 34 his retirement from the national team.
