Sokółka

Sokółka ( weißruss. Сакулка ) is a town in Poland, in the Podlaskie Voivodship.

History

Sokółka was founded in the 16th century and today the architectural system with the market, the adjacent streets and houses that recall the days of Anton Tyzenhauz to get into the city center. The town has nearly 20,000 inhabitants and is located in the immediate vicinity of Grodno and Lida ( Belarus ). Through the city runs the international road and the railway line from Warsaw to Vilnius, Riga and St. Petersburg and to Minsk and Moscow.

Sokółka is a city with a varied landscape, hills, forests and untouched nature. Worth seeing are the churches and museums. In Sokolka and around the Sokolka - horses are bred. Each year, exhibitions, auctions and parades are organized by sidecars. Fairs are held on Mondays. Twinned Sokółka in Germany is Rochlitz.
