Solar eclipse of April 30, 2022

In the solar eclipse of April 30, 2022 it is a purely partial eclipse, the earth will therefore only be taken from the penumbra of the moon. The eclipse will take place almost exclusively over the Southern Ocean. In Chile and southwestern Argentina darkness can be observed in the evening hours. In the south of Patagonia, a little more than half of the sun will be obscured by the moon, when the weather should make an observation of darkness possible.

The darkness is the 66th of the comprehensive 71 eclipses of Saros cycle. The following five eclipses of this cycle will also be partially pure, they are even further south to take place and the visibility region will be even smaller than in this darkness.
