Solecism

A solecism (Greek σολοικισμός soloikismós ) is a gross error in the syntax of language, presumably named after the Greek city of Soli in Cilicia, whose inhabitants are said to have spoken well by the influence of neighboring barbarian tribes, a difficult to understand Greek. A solecism can also be used as a conscious rhetorical device (eg, "Where do you want to" ) - in classical rhetoric called the licensed use of Greek σχῆμα, schema, scheme, or Latin figura.

In linguistics

Solecisms occur mainly when the parts of a sentence are not properly connected.

In the rhetoric

The solecisms also pleonasm, ellipse (also called Ellipsis ) and Anakoluth include (also called set break ).
