Soledad is a Colombian city on the Magdalena River in the department of Atlántico with (2008) 661.851 inhabitants ( Soledeños ). Soledad is part of the metropolitan area of ​​Barranquilla.

Soledad is located 30 km upstream of the mouth of the Magdalena in the Caribbean Sea. It is the city with the highest population growth in Colombia, in 2005, the population was only 455 734. It is bordered to the north by Barranquilla, on the south by malambo, on the east by the department of Magdalena, from which it is separated by the river, and on the west by Galapagos.
