Sonar Kollektiv

Sonar Kollektiv is a Berlin based independent label with an attached Publishing and a worldwide distribution network. The label was founded by the Berlin DJ and producer team Jazzanova in 1997. The collective was originally composed of various sub-labels, which set different priorities and worked together in the collective. This included dialogue, airdrops, No cession, Recreation, Mermaid, Best Seven, HotDrops and aspects. One by one they have been resolved. Sonar Kollektiv releases music among others in the fields of nu jazz, Soul, Jazz, Pop, House, Electro, Techno reggae, folk and dubstep.

From 2005 to 2006 there was a collaboration with the Berlin-based label Innervisions.

On Sonar Kollektiv have among other things the artist Âme, Roland Appel, Atjazz, Rogall, Eva Be, Stee Downes, Fat Freddy 's Drop, Robert Galic, Clara Hill, Jazzanova, Ben Klock, Marcin Kozlowski, Georg Levin, Micatone, Tobi Neumann, Christian Prommer, Ulrich Schnauss, Benny Sings, Siriusmo, Mladen Solomun and Trickski published. Among the new artists of the Berlin label include Neve Naive, Phil Garrus, Hot Coins, EnaWadan, Paskal & Urban Absolutes and FETSUM and a new project of Jah Wobble. Eric Wahlforss published in 2003 under the stage name Forss his first recordings just before he founded SoundCloud.

Sonar Kollektiv published a series of compilations: Secret Love, Best Seven Selections, ... mixing, ... Broadcasting and Computer Incarnations For World Peace.

At its tenth anniversary, the sonar was established collective orchestra consisting of musicians of the label itself, and from its direct environment. Volker Meitz took over the production and arrangement of SKO. The fifteen- year anniversary of the label was celebrated on October 12, 2012 in the Volksbühne Berlin.
