Technical Details

The K800i is the world's first mobile phone that features a 3.2 - megapixel digital camera with auto focus, xenon flash and image stabilizer for single images and videos. Sony Ericsson used the additional title for the K800i Cyber-shot based on Sony's digital camera series. It is the first phone that has the so-called Bestpic feature that allows to make nine high-resolution images at high speed (for example, movements ) to then manually select the best image.

The K800i has an integrated MP3 player, RDS radio, integrated voice recorder, an RSS reader and can send e-mails. The internal memory of 64 MB can be expanded via Memory Stick Micro ( M2) (currently according to the manufacturer up to two gigabytes, with the current software version can actually even up to eight gigabytes are reached). It is a tri-band UMTS mobile phone and has the purpose of video calling a VGA camera on the front page. The K800i weighs in at a size of 106 × 47 × 22 millimeters, about 114 grams. In most cases, the user receives the default headset provided. With 0.58 watts per kilogram of SAR radiation level is very low. The 3.2 megapixel camera has a 16x digital zoom.

Synchronization

The K800i also has a Bluetooth and an IrDA interface.

The calendar and scheduling functions are strongly oriented to Microsoft Outlook and contacts (or business cards) as well as dates can be personalized with Microsoft Outlook 2003 and 2007 or Outlook Express, but also with the address book of Mac OS X via Bluetooth interface or a data cable to synchronize what does not work very smoothly. The synchronization of calendar, contacts, tasks and notes is possible using SyncML OTA without data cable directly through the internet and works reliably with open source groupware applications like Horde.

For users of free or open source calendar, appointment and address programs, there is a more stable way to sync it with the free software ( freeware ) MyPhoneExplorer. The following proprietary and free programs can be synchronized with the software: Outlook, Outlook Express, Lotus Notes, Sunbird, Thunderbird, Rainlendar and Google.
