The Sorbitz is a 11 km long tributary of the Schwarza in the district Saalfeld- Rudolstadt, in Thuringia. It flows through the Thuringian Slate Mountains

The Sorbitz has two source rivers: the White Sorbitz, its source lies in the east in the town of Saalfeld height and the Black Sorbitz the west, which rises near Meura. The Black Sorbitz flows through Rohrbach, before it unites with Döschnitz ( drained by the White Sorbitz ) with the White Sorbitz. Then the Sorbitz flows through a deep gorge about 300 meters before it opens right into Schwarza seat at the village.
