Sordid Lives: The Series
Sordid Lives: The Series ( Original title: Sordid Lives: The Series ) is an American television series from 2008, which is intended as a prequel to the film of the same name from 2000. Were invented and wrote the series and the movie by Del Shores, who also directed. The series takes place in a fictional small town in Texas and revolves around the members of the Ingram family.
Stars of the series include Rue McClanahan, Olivia Newton-John, Caroline Rhea, Leslie Jordan, Beth Grant and a large part of the cast of the film.
Premiere in the U.S. in July 2008 on Logo, Canada Sordid Lives was sent on Super Channel. In Germany TIMM exudes the series in August 2009 film 24 has aired the series for the first time in the UK. Logo has the production of the series set because of financial problems, so there will be no second season. The official series on LOGO online website is no longer available.
Content
The Southern Family Ingram is not exactly a model family. Matriarch Peggy Ingram ( Rue McClanahan ) takes the place known bar singer Bitsy Mae Harling on ( Olivia Newton-John ) after Bitsy Mae was released from prison and has an affair with the husband of the neighbor of her sister Sissy ( Beth Grant). Peggy's elder daughter LaVonda ( Ann Walker) lives with her chain-smoking Aunt Sissy, while Peggy's younger daughter Latrelle ( Bonnie Bedelia ) tries to maintain the image of a perfectionist.
Peggy's third child Earl " Brother Boy" Ingram (Leslie Jordan ) was admitted because of his transvestism from his parents to the madhouse - there he considers himself already for 23 years. He is a big fan of country music singer Tammy Wynette, which appears to him as a ghost and asks to continue her life's work. Brother Boy tries to escape the asylum, where he is on the questionable treatment of the crazy Dr. Eve ( Rosemary Alexander) admits that thinks he can cure him of his homosexuality.
LaVondas best friend Noleta ( Caroline Rhea ) lives with her husband GW ( By David Steen ), a Vietnam veteran with two wooden leg prostheses, in a caravan in the garden of Sissy Ingram. Noltea refuses to G.W. to sleep if he does not want to keep on his dentures, so he escapes regularly to the local bar " Bubbas " and seeks the fellowship of the visitors, the brothers Wardell ( Newell Alexander) and Odell (David Cowgill ), Bitsy Mae and the always drunken Juanita (Sarah Hunley ), which has been trying for years to uncover a lottery scandal, which exists only in their imagination alkoholumnebelten.
Latrelles son Ty (Jason Dottley ) living as an actor in Los Angeles and fights there with some therapists to come to terms with his homosexuality. To this end, he still has the relationship with his first boyfriend ( Ted Detwiler ), a stalker who was once his girlfriend ( Sharron Alexis ), an angry one-night stand ( Emerson Collins) and his coming out against his best heterosexual friend (Robert get Lewis Stephenson ) and his family in Texas in the handle.
