Sorj Chalandon

Sorj Chalandon ( born May 16, 1952 in Tunis ) is a French writer and journalist.

Biography

Sorj Chalandon From 1974 to February 2007 as a journalist for the newspaper " Libération ". There he was responsible for reporting on Lebanon, Iran, Iraq, Somalia and Afghanistan. In 1988 he received the Albert Londres - Prize for his reports on Northern Ireland and the Klaus Barbie trial. Since 2009 Sorj Chalandon is one of the editors of the newspaper " Le Canard enchaîné ", the most important satirical weekly newspaper of France.

Besides his work as a journalist, he published until today five novels: Le petit Bonzi (2005), Une promesse (2006), Mon traître (2008 ), La Légende de nos pères (2009) and Retour à Killybegs ( 2011). Chalandons work has been honored with numerous awards or was nominated for them: among others, he received the Prix Médicis, the Grand Prix du roman de l' Académie française in 2011 and was nominated for the Prix Goncourt in 2011.

La legende de nos pères (2009) is the first book of Sorj Chalandon, the 2012 German translation appeared under the title The Legend of our fathers. Furthermore Chalandon was co- author of three episodes of the second season of the TV series " reporter " (Canal ) and worked with the creator of the series, Olivier Kohn, on the third season, as the setting of the series was known by the sender.
