Sound of Contact

Sound of Contact is an American progressive rock band from Miami, Florida, founded in 2009.

History

In 2006, drummer and singer Simon Collins, son of Phil Collins and keyboardist and guitarist Dave Kerzner met. At first they covered songs such as Genesis Keep It Dark. Along with Kelly Nordstrom they worked on Simon solo album U- Catastrophe in 2008. To play the album live, Matt Dorsey joined as bassist. In 2009, Collins and Kerner decided then to launch a band project. In 2010, they went along with Dorsey and Nordstrom in the Greenhouse Studios in Vancouver along with sound engineer Chris Holmes, to record the album Dimensionaut. Was mixed album of Nick Davis, while it was mastered by Gavin Lurssen and Rueben Cohen of Lurssen Mastering. The album was released in 2013 via InsideOut Music. On March 24, the band began their tour with a performance in Montreal together with Marillion, before the group played together with Spock 's Beard in Europe in May.

Style

The band plays progressive rock, with the game on the keyboard occasionally reminiscent of Space Rock. The songs have a sound strong influence of bands like Marillion.
