South (Band)

South is a British indie rock band, which was founded in 1998 as an Electronica project in London. You could take care of international attention especially with their second album, From Here On In and Singles Paint The Silence (Soundtrack The OC ) and Keep Close.

Career

South was founded in 1998 by the three members Joel Cadbury ( lead vocals, bass, guitar), Jamie McDonald ( lead guitar, vocals, drums ) and Brett Shaw founded (drums, keyboard, guitar ) during their studies at the University of London. They were initially cared for by ex- Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown, to a drawing at Mo'Wax Records, the label of UNKLE mastermind James Lavelle helped them. Then they stood Lavelle for live performances and recordings / remixes to his musical projects to the side. Singer Joel Cadbury has finally contributed vocals for the second album by UNKLE on two collaborations. Meanwhile South have released four albums.

Music style

Founded as an electrical project, located South are stylistically again rather in the more experimental range, somewhere between space rock, trip hop and Britpop.
