The South - West University Neophyte Rilski (Bulgarian: Югозападен университет " Неофит Рилски ") is a university founded in 1983 in the Bulgarian town of Blagoevgrad with 9 faculties.
History
The history of this institution began in 1975, when in Blagoevgrad a branch of the St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia with two departments ( Pre-school education and elementary education ) was established. In 1983, the Department became autonomous, and was called Higher Institute of Education. The name of South - West University Neophyte Rilski the institution in 1995 was awarded by the Bulgarian Parliament. The University honors the Bulgarian scholars Neophyte Rilski ( 1793-1881 ). In addition to the South - West University Blagoevgrad, there are also the American University in Bulgaria.
