The Southern California Institute of Architecture ( SCI - Arc short; German: Southern California Institute of Architecture ) was founded in 1972 by Ray Kappe in Santa Monica, is an independent educational institute for architecture. It has its seat since 2001 in the Arts District of Los Angeles.

The institution in which Thom Mayne was beginning to faculty offers courses of study for the BA and M.Arch. degree. SCI - Arc is one of the U.S. architectural academies, which enjoys a positive global reputation for the quality of their education.
