Southern Han

The Southern Han empire or Nanhan (Chinese南 汉, Pinyin Nan Hàn, English Southern Han; 917-971 ) was one of the formed in the period between the reigns of the Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty Ten Kingdoms of the Five Dynasties ( Wudai ) on the territory of modern Guangdong and Guangxi provinces and of wider landscapes in China.

It goes back to Liu Yin (刘 隐), who was appointed 904 in the Tang Dynasty, with the local military governor ( Jiedushi ) of Qinghaijun (清 海军).

Its capital was on the territory of today's city of Guangzhou (Canton). At first, called the State Yue越, later Han汉It was destroyed 971 of the Northern Song Dynasty.
