Special mark

The special character (german: special mark) is a navigation mark, which is used to buoyage of waterways. It is used to identify specific areas and locations such as warning areas or sites, fishing grounds, Excavator Bulk Set, cables, pipes, oceanographic stations, etc. The relative importance of each special character may be given as a caption or the chart or other nautical publications must be removed.

Appearance

A special character may be of any shape. Preferably, it is carried in drums or spar buoy or a rod. It is yellow and can be a lying yellow cross than top marks. The character can be fired. The identifier must be a case - as well as the shape of the character - clearly distinguishable from adjacent sea marks of another kind. Within the scope of Seeschiffahrtsstraßenordnung ( SeeSchStrO ) have special characters, the identifiers Fl / Blz. , Oc (2) / Ubr. (2) or Oc ( 3) / Ubr. ( 3), oceanographic stations basically Fl ( 5) / Blz. (5 ).
