Spencer's Pilots ( in the original Spencer's Pilots ) is an American television series that aired from September 17, 1976 by CBS from September 10, 1977 in ARD.

Action

Spencer Parrish has a small charter flight company in California, not far from San Diego, the Spencer's Aviation. His two pilots Stan Lewis and Garrett Cass take over all possible, sometimes very unusual orders, for which aircraft are required. So they transport prisoners, documents, explosives or seed. The office conducts Then Linda, who has a pilot's license itself. For the engineering and aircraft maintenance mechanic Mickey " Wig" Wiggins is responsible. Spencer and his pilots experiencing dangerous and exciting adventures, but solve them with fliegerischem skill, but often with a lot of luck.

Broadcast

Although 11 episodes filmed ( and synchronized in Germany and sent) were, the series has been canceled after only six episodes, two months after the first showing in the fall of 1976 in U.S. television. At the time of transmission ( Friday 20.00 clock EST) ran the competition broadcasters ABC and NBC, the series Varity show, Donny & Marie and Sanford and Son it was replaced by the, also playing in Southern California serial code R. Just one year later, the series was erstausgestrahlt in Germany in the lunch program of the ARD. Since 1980, Spencer's Pilots, however, would no longer run on German television. Since 7 December 2012, the series is now available as a DVD box in a German and an English version.
