The scales Mieren ( Spergularia ), also called Spärklinge or Spörgel, is a genus in the family Caryophyllaceae.

Features

The scales Mieren are annual or perennial herbaceous plants. They often form lawn. The stems are sometimes slightly woody at the base, the stems are erect, prostrate or ascending. The plants are hairy or glabrous glandular.

The leaves are typically against constantly for the family. Some species form short, leafy side shoots, so-called leaf tufts, but only on one side of the node. The stipules are trockenhäutig, silvery and papery, and united at the base.

The flowers are unisexual or hermaphrodite, are fünfzählig and have a double perianth. The flower stalks are beaten down after flowering, fruit ripening directed to go but back up. The sepals are free and often have a narrow white skin edge. The petals are entire, and pink to red, rarely white. There are ( a ) five to ten stamens, the stamp has three pen. The capsule fruit jumps up with three flaps. The seeds are pear-shaped to roundish, or lens-shaped and winged.

Ecology

The flowers are pollinated by insects ( entomophily ) or are self-pollinating ( autogamy ).

The propagation is performed for the two different seed types differ: The winged seeds are dispersed by the wind, with the skin edge serves as a flying machine ( Anemochorie ). The roundish seeds possess a warty and spiny surface and are called velcro fruit spread ( Epizoochorie ).

System

The scales Mieren be made within the subfamily Paronychioideae in the tribe Polycarpeae to the in the central European flora also Polycarpon and Spergula belong. The genus includes about 25 species, 17 of which occur in Europe.

  • Minimize grain ( Spergularia segetalis (L.) G. Don fil; Syn. Delia segetalis (L.) Dumort. ); it comes in Morocco, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Switzerland, Poland before and came earlier also in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany
