Spiral Architect

Spiral Architect is a Norwegian progressive metal band from Oslo, founded in 1993.

History

The band was formed in 1993 by ex- King's Quest guitarist Steinar Gundersen, who with the members of the band Anesthesia, Kaj Gornitzka ( electric guitar ), Lars K. Norberg (bass ) and Asgeir Mickelson (drums), merged. Together they wrote some songs and were at first with two tracks on the compilation A Gathering of Eight Norwegian prog metal bands in 1995 represented. Both songs were re-released in February 1995 as a demo in -house production. On the demo Leif Knashaug could be heard as a singer.

In 1996 came with Øyvind Hægeland (ex - Manitou ) a new singer for the band a year later signed a contract with Spiral Architect The Laser 's Edge / Sensory Records. The debut album, A Sceptic's Universe was, Texas recorded in June 1998 at Village Productions. It was produced by Neil Kernon ( Brand X, Queensrÿche, Nevermore ). The album was released in Japan on 16 December 1999, and worldwide on 18 January 2000.

In September 2000, the band announced that they had begun rehearsals for a second album, which was later postponed again and again and has not yet been released.

Style

Spiral Architects style is a mixture of technical progressive metal and fusion, and comparable to the works of other bands of the genre such as Watchtower, Fates Warning and Psychotic Waltz.
