Spiridon Mattar

Spiridon Mattar ( born March 1, 1921 in Beirut ) is Melkite Bishop Emeritus of Nossa Senhora do Paraíso em São Paulo.

Life

Spiridon Mattar received on July 20, 1946, the ordination.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 22 June 1978 concerning the bishop in Nossa Senhora do Paraíso em São Paulo. The Patriarch of Antioch, Maximos V Hakim, consecrated him on 20 July of the same year the bishop; Were co-consecrators Georges Haddad, Archbishop of Tyre, and Habib Bacha MSP, Archbishop of Beirut and Jbeil.

On April 20, 1990, he resigned from his post.
