The traffic station Vienna spittelau is a multistorey transfer hubs in Vienna's 9th district Alsergrund. It extends parallel to and above the tracks of Franz Josef's train. The node is one of the most important for the einpendelnden of northwestern Lower Austria passenger and consists of the station Wien spittelau ÖBB and the metro station spittelau Wiener Linien. General

The distinctive main building of the traffic station emerged just with the abandonment of the rail arc between Peace Bridge and Nußdorferstraße, and with the opening of Nordastes the U6 to Floridsdorf in 1996. In earlier Viennese subway conceptions of transport nodes appeared since the 1960s under the name " cross belt " on. The originally desired by the City of Vienna relocation of the Franz Josef station ÖBB at this location, however, was not realized. On 7 October 1995, the investments of the U4 were released on May 4, 1996, the opening of the U6 - section. In one of the old - no longer used - Stadtbahnbögen west of the station was opened in 2008 incorporated an office building, which can be reached directly via the Skywalk spittelau. Metro station

The platforms of the U4 are on the ground in the form of a central station platform. They are connected with those of the U6 via a mezzanine, which can be reached by escalator and fixed stairs.
