Splenic artery

The splenic artery or splenic artery ( from the Latin or Greek lien rinse " spleen "; " Splenic artery ") is an artery of the abdominal cavity and one of the three main branches of the celiac trunk.

The splenic artery divides into several branches:

  • Arteria dorsalis pancreatica ( back side pancreatic artery)
  • Artery pancreatica magna (large pancreatic artery)
  • Arteries gastricae breves ( short gastric arteries)
  • Left gastric artery posterior ( artery of the posterior gastric wall )
  • Gastroepiploic artery vein (or A. gastroomentalis sinistra ) (left gastric artery network )

The splenic artery supplies not only the spleen and the stomach, the pancreas and the large network.

In ruminants, the splenic artery are also the two main vessels of the rumen - ruminalis artery artery and vein - from.
