The Spreča vale is a non- navigable river in Bosnia and Herzegovina and right tributary of the Bosna of 127 km in length.

Run

It rises 261 meters above sea level below the mountain Velja Glava ( 594 m) in Papraća, community Šekovići in Zvornik and ends after 127 km at Doboj at an altitude of 138 m in the Bosna, taking into account the relatively densely populated areas of Kalesija, Živinice, Lukavac, Petrovo, Gracanica and Doboj flows.

Left tributaries are the Mala Spreča vale, the Oskova and Gostelja, right tributaries Gribaja and Jala.

In Lukavac the Spreča vale is dammed to 12 km long and up to 14 m deep Modrac Lake.

Catchment area

The catchment area covers 1947 km ². The Spreča vale drained a large part of the Tuzla Canton.

Traffic

The Valley of Spreča vale is the shortest connection between the Drina in Zvornik and the Bosna in Doboj and therefore long been an important route. Today, run the railway line Doboj - Tuzla ( Zvornik ) and the main road M4.
