Spring Mountain District AVA

Spring Mountain District AVA ( recognized since 13 May 1993) is an American Viticultural Area in the U.S. state of California and is part of the regional Napa Valley AVA. The vines were often terraced on the slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains in the northwest of Napa Valley near the cities of Calistoga, Rutherford and St. Helena.

The vineyards are situated at an altitude 122-792 m above sea level. NN, significantly higher than the rest of the Napa Valley. The May 13, 1993 officially recognized wine region is therefore not achieved by the morning and evening cooling mists of the region, however, benefited from nightly cooling winds from the Bay of San Pablo.
