Śródmieście, Warsaw

Śródmieście ( German: Town Center ) is a district of Warsaw, Poland, on the western side of the Vistula. It forms the center, here are the important administrative buildings and ministries, many shops and theaters.

Here are also some of the most important tourist attractions of the city of Warsaw, including the Royal Castle, the Sigismund's Column, the Old Town Market Square, the tallest building in Warsaw ( the Palace of Culture, 234 m), the oldest part of the university (about 1809) and the oldest public park ( Saxon Garden - opened 1727). In the northwest of the city center are its biggest residential Za Żelazną Brama with about 25,000 inhabitants, many offices, some skyscrapers and the Warsaw Central Railway Station.
