Differences from the original version

The German version partly deviates significantly from the original English books, the people and were about Germanized place names. Also that Enid Blyton has settled the boarding school stories in Cornwall and St. Clare's is designed as a strictly Anglican institution, is clear from the translation no longer produced: From the description of everyday life in a typical English boarding school in the 1940s was the atmosphere of a German boarding the 1960s.

In order to make the postponement plausible, equipment, technology and culture have been modernized: from a gramophone in the common room was a record player, the girls no longer hear jazz, but pop to instead of going to the post office must be phoned in phone booths, etc.

The sporting activities were adapted from country to country: from the first in half of the 20th century in England in girls popular ball sport Lacrosse was in the German handball, and also about other typically English, recreational activities in the translation hardly anything to learn.

In the editions of the Schneider -Verlag missing parts of chapters or even whole chapters. The very first chapter of the first volume " The Twins At St. Clare's " was for the German version of " Hanni and Nanni are always against " partially rewritten: While Pat and Isabel for example, have problems with the form prescribed in St. Clare's gray school uniform, which they to dark and appears to be colorless, there is not such a conversation between Samantha and Miranda.
