St. Louis–San Francisco Railway

The St. Louis- San Francisco Railway and St. Louis and San Francisco Railway Company (in short: Frisco or SLSF ) was a former American railway company. Headquarters was St. Louis.

It was ( according to the central lines of the Central Pacific Railroad - Union Pacific Railroad - Route over the Donner Pass ) in 1876 as one of the then numerous incurred transcontinental railway projects founded. The name changed on 29 June 1896, when the company was registered in the Companies Register of the State of Missouri after a bankruptcy as St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad again. After a further bankrupt the SLSF seemed from 24 August 1916 as St. Louis - San Francisco Railway. Under this name the company still existed until 1980 when it was acquired by the Burlington Northern Railroad. This has unneeded routes to other companies - among others the Arkansas and Missouri Railroad - sold.

The Frisco served the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.
