St. Peter GR

St. Peter is a former faction of the former parish of St. Peter- Pagig in a circle Schanfigg, District Plessur in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland.

On 1 January 2008, the congregation merged with St. Peter Pagig to the new parish of St. Peter- Pagig. Since early 2013, St. Peter, where a branch of the new municipality is part of the municipality of Arosa.

Geography

St. Peter, 9 km (air line) east located on the northern side of the Schanfiggs of Chur, consists of several hamlets on the main road to Arosa and numerous farmsteads. The main village are St. Peter ( West Quarter with the Church, 1'253 m above sea level. M. and Ostquartier, 1259 m), Lavein ( 1274 m ) and Cufa ( 1263 m). Above is Fatschel (1515 m), a former mountain pasture, which has developed into a tourist center of the municipality and is now occupied.

Apart from a small corner in the southwest, where the former municipality joined the Talfluss Plessur in the field of mountain nose sand Grind to St. Peter and the neighboring community Molinis decided to define the common border along the 1914 opened railway line from Chur to Arosa. History

The Church of St. Peter, mother church of the populated novels outer valley portion is documented in 831 as a possession of the monastery Ragaz. Attractions

Symbol of St. Peter is the massive church tower, formerly a free-standing tower.
