Stac Levenish

Stac Levenish ( Scottish Gaelic Stac Leibhinis; often just called Levenish ) is a rocky pinnacle in the archipelago of St. Kilda in the North Atlantic and belongs politically to Scotland. The island has an area of ​​about 24,280 m². As part of the St. Kilda archipelago of Stac is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Stac Levenish is located about 4 km east of the main island of Hirta. To the northeast of the rock lies the tiny islet Na Badhan. On the north coast of Stac Levenish you can see the profile of a human face, which is visible from the east.

The rock rises from northeast to southwest steeply. In the southwest is the highest at 62 meters above the sea instead of the pinnacle. In the early 20th century, the rock was often climbed by recreational climbers. There was a climbing tour, which included, in addition Stac Levenish also Stac Lee. The climb to Stac Levenish was designated as moderate.
