Stacy Roest

Stacy Roest ( born March 15, 1974 in Lethbridge, Alberta ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player ( center ), who played most recently for the Rapperswil -Jona Lakers of the Swiss National League A.

Career

As a junior he played in 1990 in the Western Hockey League for the Medicine Hat Tigers. Despite good performances there, he was not selected by the NHL teams NHL Entry Draft. 1994 obliged him the Detroit Red Wings for their farm team in the American Hockey League, the Adirondack Red Wings.

In the season 1998/99 he came for the first time in the National Hockey League action. After two seasons and over 100 missions, he joined the 2000/01 season with the Minnesota Wild. There, too, he was mostly in the squad of NHL teams, but managed not that big break. For the season 2002/ 03 he returned to Detroit, but came only two appearances with the Red Wings. Mostly he was reinstated in the AHL with the Grand Rapids Griffins.

For the 2003/04 season was Stacy Roest to Switzerland and played in the National League A for the Rapperswil -Jona Lakers and took several meetings with Team Canada at the Spengler Cup in part. After nine years at the Rapperswil -Jona Lakers Roest ended his career 38 years old in April 2012.
