History

The beginnings

The skate club Rapperswil (SCR ) was founded on 17 January 1945. A year later, on 6 January 1946 you graduated away against St. Gallen his first official game ( 4:7 ). The home games were played on the frozen lake Zurich in the Garnhänke. Players initially presented the Board and prepared the ice field in a long night working on. The weather conditions were very few games has therefore been trained on the Dolder ice rink in Zurich. Already at the beginning of times lined with 1000 spectators of the games Rappi. Initial success was achieved by the Rapperswil already in the season 1950/51 with the Swiss Championship Series B, 1953/54, with the Regional Master Serie A and the rise of play in the National League B, which, however, is scarce in the extension against Montana Lausanne away with 0:1 lost.

The 1960s

The 1970s

The 1980s

After years of trepidation, the club in the National League B could consolidate slowly but surely sporty. Still playing the skate club Rapperswil- Jona but under the open sky. This changed in 1984, when it abruptly left cover the ice field by means of a plastic air dome. The threat of the Association to withdraw the Game Rapperswil approval due to lack of shelter for National Football League games, could thus be averted.

The 1990s

Venue

The Diners Club Arena is the home stadium of Rapperswil- Jona Lakers in Rapperswil -Jona. The former stadium, " Lido " was completely rebuilt and renamed " Diners Club Arena " in 2006.
