Niklas Persson

Niklas Persson ( born March 26, 1979 in Ösmo ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who is since May 2013 in the Rapperswil -Jona Lakers of the National League A under contract.

Career

Niklas Persson started his career in the youth of Huddinge IK, for which he was active in the 1994/95 season. He then moved to the youth department of Leksand IF, for its professional team, he made ​​his debut in the Elitserien in the 1997/98 season. After ten years Persson left the club in 2006 and signed a contract with the league rivals Linköpings HC, with whom he was then in the seasons 2006 /07 and 2007/ 08 respectively Swedish runner-up. End of April 2009 Persson was committed by Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk of the Kontinental Hockey League. After the end of his contract with Neftekhimik Persson joined in May 2011, within the HK KHL for CSKA Moscow. Since May 2013 Niklas Persson is in the Swiss National League A at the Rapperswil -Jona Lakers contract.

Internationally

For Sweden, Persson took part in the U20 World Junior Championships in 1998 and 1999. In the senior level, he played at the 2009 World Championships, at the last day he carried a 4-2 victory over the United States won the bronze medal with the Tre Kronor - selection. In the following two years, he participated in the World Championships and won another bronze and a silver medal.

At the World Championships in 2013 in Stockholm and Helsinki, he was again part of the national team and won the gold medal with this.
