In addition to the hockey department, the association operates since the early 1990s, a Department of floorball. The women's team grew in 2008 from Division I in the top flight, the floorball Elitserien on.

History

The Hockey Department of Huddinge IF was founded in 1946. In January 1950, split off from this original club and called himself Huddinge IK. First, the first team of the club played at the regional level in the Stockholm series before 1955, the rise in the third-class Division III succeeded. This division was one of the club until 1966, when this in the then second division, the Division II ascended. From 1975 to 1999 I Division was the second highest league, which has been called since 1999 HockeyAllsvenskan.

1978, 1979, 1986 and 1993 took the club to the Kvalserien, the qualifying round for the Elitserien part, but could never reach the climb. In the play-offs in 1989 a game against Timrå IK was decided only in the third extension. At the time, it was thus the longest hockey game ever played in Sweden. Today it is ranked among the top 10 of the longest games in Sweden.

The last ascent attempt in 1993, the Huddinge IK drew for the home game against local rivals AIK Ishockey to the globes and put it a new attendance record of 12487 visitors. In addition, Huddinge won the game 5-3. A month later, the return game was played, which ended in a 3-3 draw and 13124 spectators attracted. These two games were whether their high attendance figures in the history of the Swedish hockey since they set up the attendance records for games outside the Elitserien.

At the end of the season 1999/2000 the club was relegated to the now third-rate Division I, but managed just one year later ( without dot loss in the rise of games) the re-emergence in the Allsvenskan. In the following years the team ended mostly rear seats of the Allsvenskan, before again in 2005 was the descent into the Division I. Again tried and failed to resurgence, but since then denies the club each year the relegation round. At the end of the 2007/08 season the club managed to avoid relegation in the relegation series not initially, but received in the summer of 2008, the license for the HockeyAllsvenskan because Nyköpings Hockey had to descend forcibly. At the end of the 2008/09 season the club was relegated again in the third-class Division I.
