The Stade Adrar (Arabic ملعب أدرار Grand Stade d' Agadir or ) is a football stadium with track and field facility in the Moroccan city of Agadir. The 2013 opened sports facility with 45,480 seats, about 10,000 of them covered in the main stand, is used primarily by the football club Hassania d' Agadir ( HUSA ). It replaced the outdated Stade Al Inbiaate with only 15,000 seats. In addition, the Moroccan national football team uses the stadium for international matches.

History

The stadium is located approximately six kilometers east from the city center of Agadir and the harbor is seven kilometers. The Almassira International Airport is located 20 kilometers southeast of the stadium's construction.

The new building for about 1 billion MAD ( approximately 103 million euros ) was originally intended as a venue in the application of Morocco for the Football World Cup 2010. When awarding Morocco was defeated but with 10:14 Voices against South Africa.

In an international competition in 1999, the design by the architects Saâd Benkirane from Morocco and Italian Vittorio Gregotti was selected for realization. On September 22, 2013, the Moroccan Football Federation Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football ( FRMF ) announced the official opening date for the Stade Adrar with the 11th October 2013.

FIFA Club World Cup 2013

The eight games of the FIFA Club World Cup 2013 will be held next to the stadium in Agadir also at the Stade de Marrakech. Morocco also directed the tournament in 2014 with the Stade Adrar as a possible venue.

African Cup of Nations 2015
