The Stadio Brianteo is the municipal football stadium in the northern Italian city of Monza, Province of Monza and Brianza in the Lombardy region. The football club AC Monza Brianza here has their sporting home. The Arena is located just 4 km southeast of the Formula 1 racetrack Autodromo Nazionale Monza.

History

Because the Stadio Gino Alfonso Sada outdated and too small; the city decided to build a new stadium. There were long discussions about the shape of the plant, whether the sports facility gets an athletics or not. Thus, the proposed athletics track was removed during construction. The stadium was opened on 28 August 1988 with the Coppa Italia AC Monza Brianza game against AS Roma. Monza defeated AS Roma 2-1 in.

The stadium now has 18,568 spectators seats (of which 8,327 covered). Only the main stand has a roof and has about 5,000 seats. The canopy is suspended from the two massive and towering floodlight towers. The two-storey opposite stand offers offers nearly 8,000 seats and the Located behind each come to just under 3,000 seats. The press box is equipped with 70 seats; which was recently renovated as well as the changing rooms. Furthermore, opened a bar in the main grandstand.

Others

The facility is used from time to time for rugby matches. So, for example, met the Italian national rugby union team and the Fijian rugby union team toward a friendly match on 26 November 2005.
