Stadio Renato Curi

The Stadio Renato Curi is a soccer stadium in the Italian city of Perugia, region Umbria.

The football club Perugia Calcio plays its home games from here. Is named the stadium after the former player Renato Curi, who died during a league match against Juventus on 30 October 1977. The capacity is 28,000 seats.

History

Was built the stadium, which is located below the old town in Pian di Massiano district, 1974 in just three months of construction, after the AC Perugia had risen to the highest Italian league and the previous, in 1937, inaugurated Stadio Santa Giuliana the requirements of the Serie A does not enough. Until it was renamed Stadio Renato Curi said the sports facility Stadio Comunale di Pian di Massiano.
